Greenpoint

Why Greenpoint?

Nestled along the East River, Greenpoint is the northern-most neighborhood of Brooklyn that combines the charm of a tight-knit community with the excitements of urban living. The industrial vibe of the neighborhood is largely due to its rich manufacturing history. It was only over the last few decades that zoning gradually changed to accommodate more residential buildings. More recently, major towers have popped up on the waterfront. Aside from these, larger industrial buildings continue to serve as beacons to artists, driving a thriving arts scene. Numerous galleries and creative spaces foster a sense of inspiration and creativity. Greenpoint has also seen steady growth in property values over recent years, making it not only a great place to call home, but also an attractive investment option.

Where is Greenpoint?

Greenpoint is sandwiched between Williamsburg to the south and Long Island City across the water to the north.

It's serviced by the G train and NYC East River Ferry service.

Film Noir Cinema is an intimate, 54-seat independent movie house that specializes in underground, arthouse, cult, and hard-to-find films. Founded by longtime Greenpoint resident and cinephile Will Malitek, the venue is a passionate, personal project rather than a chain theater — with vintage seats salvaged from a defunct Hollywood theater and a former funeral home as its home. Film Noir Cinema offers a rare, immersive film-going experience — no big-budget crowd, no algorithmic curation, just carefully selected films and a space where discussion and discovery are encouraged. For movie lovers seeking something off the beaten path in NYC, it's a hidden gem.
